Hiking Database Introduction:

Database Features: The hiking database was created with the MS Access program and can be maintained offline or online from this website. Your site visitors can add hikes to the database... when a new hike is added, a password is required so that the hike can only be edited or deleted by the owner of the hike. I allow anyone to set up a user account to add and maintain new hikes; however, you could choose to control updating of the database by assigning user names and passwords to the individuals that you want maintaining the database. After the initial database is setup, there is usually no need to get your Webmaster involved to handle any of the database maintenance tasks.

Menu Selections: Search for a Hike Use search parameters to find a hike of interest... search by location, hike name, mileage, and/or elevation gain. A lot of the hikes have links to hike photos and detailed trip reports. Mileage & Elevation Calculator Calculate the mileage and elevation gain for hikes... utilize location, hike name, hiker, date range, mileage, and elevation gain parameters. Add or maintain a hike Login and add information on a new hike or maintain information on an existing hike.
