Lake Easton - 2.14.2008
Lake Easton... taken from the northwest end of the lake where the Kachess River flows into the lake.

This ski tour begins on a perimeter road that parallels I-90 for a half mile... the south end of Amabilis Mtn is visible on the north side of I-90.

At the southwest end of Lake Easton you connect with the John Wayne Pioneer Trail... I turned left (east) and tried to enter the Iron Horse State Park, but the gate was locked...

So I continued west on the John Wayne Trail towards Frozen Toe Point... lots of icicles along the trail.

At Frozen Toe Point this bridge crosses the Yakima River... an "Area Closed" sign was on the bridge so I headed back towards the park.
