Red Top Mountain - 1.6.2010
Park at the Mineral Springs restaurant (check in with the owner)... walk Hwy 970 for an eighth of a mile... ski 3 miles on FS9738... then ski FS9702 for 5 miles to the summer trailhead for Red Top Mtn... leaving a quarter mile hike to the summit (5361')... ~16 miles roundtrip, gaining ~2800 feet of elevation.

FS9738 and FS9702 were nicely groomed for snowmobiles.

Near the 3 mile mark I got my first good view of the lookout on Red Top Mtn.

At the 3 mile mark (~3600') FS9738 goes to the N. Fork Teanaway... take FS9702 for another 5 miles to reach Red Top Mtn... ugh!

At the 7 mile mark (~4800') there is only one mile left to go.
