Red Mountain - 2.9.2011
rodman's GPS route of our trip to Red Mountain in the Salmon La Sac area... 8.4 miles roundtrip, gaining 3530 feet of elevation.

Drive thru Roslyn and continue on the Salmon La Sac road... just beyond the Cle Elum River Campground we parked (2320') and started walking on Road 46 towards Cooper Lake.

A short distance from the car, Snowdog, rodman and BarbE stop on the bridge crossing the Cle Elum River... Davis Peak in the distance on the right.

After walking Road 46 for ~2 miles rodman checks his GPS while Snowdog and BarbE discuss the state of the economy.

We have left Road 46 and are heading up through a brushy area.

At ~3800 feet we will cross this logging road and continue up.

After crossing the logging road there isn't much brush to deal with.

At ~4500 feet the views to the east open up.

No question that it is cold... but sunshine and the lack of wind make for a very comfortable day.
