Kendall Peak Lakes and First Kendall Knob - 5.14.2012
My ski route to Kendall Peak Lakes and First Kendall Knob... ~8 miles roundtrip, gaining ~1900 feet of elevation.
The Gold Creek Snow Park... Exit 54 off of I-90... opposite side of the highway from the downhill ski areas.
Still enough snow to ski past the road closure sign.
Skiing back toward Snoqualmie Pass... looking across the highway to the Snoqualmie Pass ski area... Granite Mountain in the distance on the left... Denny Peak in the right foreground... Chair Peak up valley.
Turning up valley toward Kendall Peak Lakes.
Close up of Granite Mountain (left) and Denny Mountain.
Rampart Ridge at the decision point to either go to the lakes or head out to First Kendall Knob.
Heading for Kendall Peak Lakes.
Going to give back a little elevation to the first lake.
At the first lake.
Still plenty of snow at the first lake.
At the second lake now... just starting to break up around the edges... the third lake is up above... too steep for me on snow.
At First Kendall Knob... looking across Hyak and Ski Acres to Silver Peak (left) and Humpback Mountain.
Keechelus Lake from First Kendall Knob.
Looking across the Snoqualmie Pass Ski Area to Granite Mountain.
