Many Pools and Point 6000+ - 4.3.2016
A photo of the GPS track for our trip to Many Pools and on up to Point 6000+... 2.76 miles roundtrip, gaining 1189 feet of elevation.
We parked in a pull-out on Hwy 9... about one mile east of the small tunnel.
We walked a half-mile or so further east on Hwy 9 and entered a drainage on the north side of the highway.
We found some petroglyphs after hiking a very short distance in the wash.
Leaving the Wash and heading up on slickrock... Nippletop is in the distance on the left.
Continuing up on slickrock... Ariel Peak on the right.
Several of the Many Pools.
Instead of continuing on the lower Many Pools route we decided to head up on the slickrock.
Working our way higher on slickrock... Ariel Peak is behind Denali Girl.
Continuing higher... looking back across the highway... Nippletop is the highest peak.
Getting very steep as I near my high point of 6000+.
Looking at the southern end of Cable Mountain.
Someone put a cairn on Point 6000+... Ariel Peak on the right.
Looking west toward Twin Brothers (left) and the southern end of Deertrap Mountain.
Heading down and looking back at Point 6000+ in the center of the photo.
