Padre Canyon - 4.17.2016
A photo of the GPS track for our hike through Padre Canyon... 6.2 miles roundtrip, gaining 865 feet of elevation.
There is a large parking area just before reaching the south entrance of Snow Canyon State Park.
The trail is not well marked... after parking, hike south toward a water treatment facility and you will find this sign.
I'm standing behind the sign... and looking back toward the parking area.
The trail goes around a fenced water treatment facility.
The trail passes by the 'Tuacahn Center for the Arts' just before Padre Canyon narrows some.
In Padre Canyon... looking back at the 'Tuacahn Center for the Arts'.
Hiking north in Padre Canyon... we are heading for the saddle in the center of the photo.
Getting closer to the saddle.
A selfie from our high point (3816') in Padre Canyon... the town of St. George is in the distance.
Continuing north... down from the saddle in Padre Canyon... this side of the saddle is nicer than the south side of the saddle.
Denali Girl... surrounded by red rock.
An arch in Padre Canyon.
Interesting terrain in Padre Canyon.
From Padre Canyon we used the 'Red Sands' wash to reach the West Canyon Road (closed to vehicles) in Snow Canyon State Park... and followed it ~2.5 miles back to our car.
