Wilderness of Rocks - 4.6.2017
We parked near the Mt. Lemmon ski area and started hiking on Mt. Lemmon Trail #5.

After hiking a short distance we arrived at the junction with Meadow Trail #5A... but we will head downhill on the Mt. Lemmon Trail.

After hiking less than a half-mile we arrive at the Lemmon Rock Lookout.

After hiking 1.5 miles we arrive at the junction with the Sutherland Trail... but we will continue on the Mt. Lemmon Trail.

After hiking a total of 4 miles we will leave the Mt. Lemmon Trail and start hiking on the 'Wilderness of Rocks' Trail #44.

After hiking the 'Wilderness of Rocks' Trail for 2.3 miles we will take the 'Lemmon Rock Lookout' trail back up to the ridge.

We can see the 'Lemmon Rock Lookout'... a few hundred more feet of elevation gain will get us back up to the ridge where we will close the loop portion of our hike... leaving less than a half-mile of hiking to reach our car... the hike was 9.2 miles roundtrip, gaining 2563 feet off elevation.
