Sahale Arm and Sahale Glacier Camp - 10.16.2018
Drive to the end of the Cascade River Road and park (~3640') at the trailhead for the Cascade Pass Trail... here we are looking across the north fork drainage of the Cascade River to Johannesburg Mountain.

The Cascade Pass Trail is so well graded that we were starting to wonder if we would ever reach the pass... we still aren't there, but the views of Mix-up Peak, The Triplets, Cascade Peak and Johannesburg Mountain keep us entertained.

After hiking a total of 3.4 miles we have reached Cascade Pass (~5400')... Pelton Peak is in the foreground... with McGregor Mountain down valley on the horizon.

If a person got tired of looking at Sahale Peak, they could turn around for this view... Cascade Pass and Cache Col are the northern entrance to the Ptarmigan Traverse.

Hooray... after hiking a total of 5.8 miles we have reached Sahale Glacier Camp (~7620')... with Sahale Glacier and Sahale Peak above.

After hiking a total of 8.2 miles we have reached Cascade Pass and have a 3.4 mile hike to get back to the car.

Looking back up toward Cascade Pass as we continue down the Cascade Pass Trail... watching the sun hit Mix-up Peak above... our total trip was 11.6 miles, gaining 4358 feet of elevation.
