Silica Dome - 10.14.2019
The trailhead for Silica Dome is located at the end of the Rainbow Vista Road in the Valley of Fire State Park... the park is located an hours drive from Las Vegas.

A primitive road leads over to the base of Silica Dome... but the road is gated at the parking area, so I used the road as a trail.

Heading up for the summit of Silica Dome... I will be up there in less than 10 minutes.

On the summit (2349') of Silica Dome... looking north into the heart of the Valley of Fire State Park... the dark brown mountains are the Muddy Mountains.

I'm down from the Silica Dome summit... and will pretty much follow the road on the right back to the parking area... the hike/scramble was a total of 2 miles, gaining 266 feet of elevation.
