Dutton Cliff (8147') and Point 8106 - 8.1.2020
We parked (7400 feet) at the south end of Dutton Ridge... at a pullout on the East Rim Drive in Crater Lake National Park.

Heading north for Dutton Cliff... there is no trail and the hiking is slowed somewhat by the soft and sandy pumice... Mount Scott (the high point in the park) is in the distance on the right.

Looking back to the south where we parked as we hike up Dutton Ridge... on a clear day it would be easy to see Mount Shasta and the huge Agency Lake and Klamath Lakes.

Continuing north up Dutton Ridge.

After hiking 1.5 miles we have reached our first good view of Crater Lake... Applegate Peak and Garfield Peak are in the left foreground and the Phantom Ship is below... with Point 8106 (our final destination) in the far right foreground.

Denali Girl... with Point 8147 (the high point on Dutton Cliff) above on the right... but we will find broader views of the lake out at Point 8106 on the left.

After hiking 1.6 miles we have reached Point 8147... our high point for the day... but we will hike on over to Point 8106 for a complete view of the lake.
