Vista Butte - 12.8.2020
I parked at the Vista Butte Sno-Park... located on the side of the Cascade Lakes Highway... a couple miles before reaching Mount Bachelor.

I hiked east less than a quarter mile from the Sno-Park and started hiking uphill on a snowmobile road that comes over from the Kapka Butte Sno-Park.

After hiking on the snowmobile road for a quarter mile I left the road and headed cross-country when the road started going in the wrong direction for me.

After hiking a total of roughly one mile I reached Point 6580+... and got my first good views of Mount Bachelor on the left... and Tumalo Mountain on the right.

From Point 6580+ I will need to give up a little elevation to get over to Vista Butte in the right foreground... with Tumalo Mountain on the far left... and peek-a-boo views of South Sister and Broken Top on the horizon.

After hiking a total of 1.3 miles I have reached the summit of Vista Butte (6619')... and got this view of Mount Bachelor.

Almost back to my car... on the snowmobile road that goes underneath the Cascade Lakes Highway and on over to the Kapka Butte Sno-Park... the snowshoe was a total of 2.4 miles, gaining 901 feet of elevation.
