We parked at the Vista Butte Sno-Park... located next to the Cascade Lakes Highway... with Mount Bachelor in the distance.

We will start hiking on the Butte Trail... in search of Vista Butte.

Hiking on the Butte Trail toward Mount Bachelor... currently hiking parallel to the Cascade Lakes Highway.

After hiking the Butte Trail for a total of .6 miles the trail turns and starts gaining some elevation as it stops paralleling the Cascade Lakes Highway.

After hiking a total of 1.2 miles Denali Girl has crossed Trail #5 to continue hiking on the Butte Trail... Trail #5 is more of a road that begins at the Kapka-Vista Sno-Park on the other side of the highway from the Vista Butte Sno-Park.

After hiking a total of 2 miles we have reached the trail junction of the Butte Trail and Vista Butte Trail #40.2 where we will head for Vista Butte.
