Hillman Peak - 10.17.2022
We parked in a large pullout located NW of Hillman Peak and just off of the West Rim Drive in Crater Lake National Park... Llao Rock is in the distance on the far right.

From the pullout we will cross West Rim Drive and find an alternate version of the Pacific Crest Trail... located approximately 60 feet above the road.

On the alternate PCT now... heading south toward 'The Watchman' in the distance.

Continuing to hike south on the alternate PCT... with Hillman Peak above.

After hiking a third of a mile from our parking spot we have left the PCT and started hiking cross country for the summit of Hillman Peak... with 'The Watchman' in the distance.

After hiking 4-tenths of a mile we have reached the west side of Hillman's summit block... with our first view of Crater Lake in the distance below Llao Rock... looking north to Mount Bailey, Diamond Peak and Mount Thielsen on the left horizon.

From the west side of Hillman's summit block there is a reasonable path that will take us around the north side of the summit block for an easier route to the summit.
