Hidden Valley Loop - 11.14.2024
We parked in the first paved pullout just south of the parking lot for the Hemingway area in Joshua Tree National Park. We will enter the north end of Hidden Valley over there in the right center of the photo.

We have entered the north end of Hidden Valley. This is the much less traveled area of Hidden Valley... and we are hiking south... heading for the very popular south end of Hidden Valley.

Working our way from the north end of Hidden Valley to the popular south end of Hidden Valley... Star Dancer is doing a little climbing... while Kiwi and Denali Girl are going to go thru the crack in the rock.

Kiwi has made it through the crack in the rock... and Denali Girl has almost made it through the crack.

In addition to that crack in the rock in the previous photo we also had to do a little crawling to get into the popular part of Hidden Valley.

After hiking .6 miles we have entered the southern portion of Hidden Valley... and still hiking south.

The 'Great Burrito' is a popular sport climbing rock in the southern portion of Hidden Valley.

After hiking a total of .9 miles we have reached the entrance to the south part of Hidden Valley... getting ready to start hiking north back to where we parked... the 'Sports Challenge Rock' is in the right-center foreground... and the 'Little Enchilada' is in the left foreground.

After hiking a total of 1.8 miles we have closed the loop portion of our hike at the southern part of the Hemingway area.

Our car is a stone's throw away... the total hike was 2 miles, gaining 159 feet of elevation.
