Rattlesnake Canyon - 1.18.2025
We parked at the Indian Cove Picnic area of Joshua Tree National Park. Indian Cove is the north end of the Wonderland of Rocks... and the rocks here are numerous, monsterous and close together.

After hiking .6 miles we are entering Rattlesnake Canyon... and it has taken us one hour and 20 minutes to reach this spot... now hiking SW in the canyon.

After hiking a total of 1.1 miles we decided to take a break... and then begin to trace our steps back down Rattlesnake Canyon.

We are out of the canyon and getting ready to hike to the north as we trace our steps down.

Well... this is where we headed down again... and it wasn't a simple route.

Ugh... we just reached this narrow chute... and this is the way we should have come down... but we have joined this best route down.

Our car is a stone's throw away... the total hike was 2.5 miles, gaining 405 feet of elevation... the hike took 4.5 hours... only taking a couple of short breaks.
