Hidden Way Loops - 3.19.2025
We parked at the very popular trailhead for Hidden Valley in Joshua Tree National Park.

The first tenth of a mile gains a little elevation... but not much.

After hiking .2 miles we have entered Hidden Valley... and started to do the Hidden Valley Loop in a counter clockwise direction (right).

Continuing to hike the loop in a counter clockwise direction.

After hiking a half mile we have left the loop portion of the Hidden Valley Loop Trail and headed NW into a much less traveled section of Hidden Valley.

After hiking a quarter mile in the hidden section of Hidden Valley we decided to head NE toward the tree in the middle of the photo... looking for Hemingway.

After hiking a total of 1.25 miles we have reached the east side of Hemingway.

We have reached the NW side of Hemingway... and will head over to a section of Hidden Valley in the middle of the photo.

We have reached the south side of Hemingway and begin hiking SE to close the loop section of our hike that circled around Hemingway.

Working our way SE along the south side of Hemingway... closing our first loop and getting ready to enter the Hidden Valley Loop Trail where we began our hike earlier in the day.

After hiking a total of 2.6 miles we have re-entered the Hidden Valley Loop Trail... and we will continue to hike the loop in a counter clockwise direction.

After hiking a total of 3.1 miles we have closed the loop section of the Hidden Valley Trail... and have another quarter-mile to reach our car... the total hike was 3.3 miles, gaining 301 feet of elevation.
