White Domes Loop - 10.30.2025
In the Valley of Fire State Park we drove to the end of the White Domes Road and parked at the White Domes Loop trailhead.
The hike starts south in deep sand... here hiking between the White Dome on the left and the West White Dome on the right.
After gaining 80 feet of elevation from the trailhead we are getting ready to lose 200 feet of steep elevation.
Looking back as Denali Girl comes down the steep terrain.
Pretty much done with the 200 feet of steep elevation.
Looking back up at the 'V' in the right center of the photo... that is where we started to give up 200 feet of elevation to get where we are now.
Joining the Seven Wonders Trail for one tenth of a mile that will take us through a slot canyon... now hiking west.
In the slot canyon that is shared with the Seven Wonders Trail.

Continuing to hike north on the White Domes Loop Trail... is that an elephant watching Denali Girl come up?
Looking back to the south as we continue hiking north.
Taking a break... then we will take a side trip back out along the flatish rock formation behind Denali Girl and see if we can get broader views.
Looking east on the left... and south in the middle.
Looking north... where we will continue hiking after our break.

Continuing to hike north... the trail will go between the two red rock formations in the distance on the right.
The White Domes Loop Trail uses a very short piece of the White Domes Road... the total hike was 1.3 miles, gaining 227 feet of elevation.
After the hike we drove to the Visitor Center of the state park and ran into a small herd of Big Horn Sheep.
